December has begun...

December has begun...
The town of Cumberland had a light/decorations contest. The judging was on December 2 and they would announce the winner on December 3, during the 1st annual tree lighting ceremony.
Mr Santa Claus (aka Candace)
and Mrs. Claus (aka me) stopped by to help us out. Waving at every car and truck that went by. Not knowing who the judges were or what they would be driving. Santa was even dancing in the street..

We decorated the house, front and side. The judging was from 6-8:00pm... needless to say we froze out butts off sitting and standing out there for 2 hours, waving at everyone.

This is the house that beat us in the contest. After the tree lighting ceremony we all went back to the house where Santa was going to come visit. Candace left and took off down the street to try and find Santa and while she was away he showed up.

The dog was even sitting on Santa's lap...not sure what he asked for, but I can bet there were some yummy dog treats on his wish list.

Mamaw and Papaw sat on Santa's lap.

Brian even sat on Santa's lap.

Aunt Pasty was there, you know she wouldn't miss all the excitement.

Karen and the girls had their turn.

Alden wasn't too sure about Santa...But he told Santa that he wanted a chain saw for Christmas.

Jeremy put in his wish list for Santa also.

Ashlynn wasn't shy, she jumped right up there and told him everything she wanted for Christmas, mainly Justin Beiber stuff and new babies.

Not sure what Jazmine asked for, she spoke in such a soft voice that only Santa could hear.

Then came Adrian...by the looks of this picture I'd say Santa let him know that he's been watching and he really needs to be a little nicer toward his little brother and sister.

It was time for Santa to leave and Adrian and Ashlynn were going to help him up. Santa reminded all the little kids to be good and to be in bed by 8:00pm on Christmas Eve (like that is going to happen, not). Told them that he would be keeping a close eye on them...

We really had a good time doing all the decorating, but wished we could have won. There were only 6 places that had signed up for the contest, so we figured we had a good chance...oh well there is always next year...

Well until next time...Hope all is well and be safe in your journeys...:)
