December has begun...

December has begun...
The town of Cumberland had a light/decorations contest. The judging was on December 2 and they would announce the winner on December 3, during the 1st annual tree lighting ceremony.
Mr Santa Claus (aka Candace)
and Mrs. Claus (aka me) stopped by to help us out. Waving at every car and truck that went by. Not knowing who the judges were or what they would be driving. Santa was even dancing in the street..

We decorated the house, front and side. The judging was from 6-8:00pm... needless to say we froze out butts off sitting and standing out there for 2 hours, waving at everyone.

This is the house that beat us in the contest. After the tree lighting ceremony we all went back to the house where Santa was going to come visit. Candace left and took off down the street to try and find Santa and while she was away he showed up.

The dog was even sitting on Santa's lap...not sure what he asked for, but I can bet there were some yummy dog treats on his wish list.

Mamaw and Papaw sat on Santa's lap.

Brian even sat on Santa's lap.

Aunt Pasty was there, you know she wouldn't miss all the excitement.

Karen and the girls had their turn.

Alden wasn't too sure about Santa...But he told Santa that he wanted a chain saw for Christmas.

Jeremy put in his wish list for Santa also.

Ashlynn wasn't shy, she jumped right up there and told him everything she wanted for Christmas, mainly Justin Beiber stuff and new babies.

Not sure what Jazmine asked for, she spoke in such a soft voice that only Santa could hear.

Then came Adrian...by the looks of this picture I'd say Santa let him know that he's been watching and he really needs to be a little nicer toward his little brother and sister.

It was time for Santa to leave and Adrian and Ashlynn were going to help him up. Santa reminded all the little kids to be good and to be in bed by 8:00pm on Christmas Eve (like that is going to happen, not). Told them that he would be keeping a close eye on them...

We really had a good time doing all the decorating, but wished we could have won. There were only 6 places that had signed up for the contest, so we figured we had a good chance...oh well there is always next year...

Well until next time...Hope all is well and be safe in your journeys...:)

Thanksgiving-4 day weekend

Yeah it's turkey day. Candace usually makes Thanksgiving dinner and she did this year as well...Although I made the turkey in my oven so we didn't have to carry it over after it was done... We of course had the turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole, corn, sweet potatoes, cranberries 2 different ways, stuffing and rolls. We also had veggies and cheese ball to snake on while the main course was being made. Pies, omg the pies...3 pumpkin, 1 apple, 1 cherry and 1 blackberry (which my favorite), birthday cake for Lois and buckeye balls. It was all delicious...

Tabetha is getting bigger around the stomache. Baby Bryce is growing and we can't wait til the day she delivers this bundle...She is due March 13, 2012.

Tabetha and Daniel stopped by after they had gone to his Aunt Anna and Uncle Gary Pea's house. They had Thanksgiving gather there this year. They may eat dinner somewhere else, but they always show up just in time for desert...

Jeremy was just glad he didn't have to go to school for 4 days. And then when it was time to go to school, they got an extra day out because someone had broken into the bus lot and stoled about 60 batteries from the buses. Not sure who it was, but I'm sure they will catch them.

Even though Alden nibbled on his stuff he was always ready to go. Ready to do whatever...As for Jazmine she was taking her time eating.

Karen and Lois were here this year. Candace invited all of Brians family to come, which was really nice. Ray and Scott (Brian's brothers) were there also.

After eating so much they couldn't get up from the table for a while. Maybe trying to let things settle before digging into the deserts that we had. Everyone went through the ads to see what stores they were going to hit on Black friday. I don't do black friday, not gonna fight the crowd for something I can get at a later time. Jeremy and Adrian got to spend the night with Tabetha and Daniel on Thanksgiving night. They were out shopping at 10:00pm and didn't get in until around midnight. Then Tabetha and Daniel went out again while the boys were sleeping. Shopping is not one of Jeremy's or Adrian favorite things to do...

Well until next time hope all is well and be safe in your journeys...

Visit to Grandma Ann

We all went to see Grandma Ann on Sunday (11/13/2011). She wasn't doing too well, but was really glad to see us all. She had woken up one morning with a big lump on the side of her throat. Lisa took her to doctor and they did test to find out what it was. Found out that is was some sort of cancer. She goes in for surgery on the 14th of November, so doctors could find out where this cancer started and to see if it could be some what stopped.
Candace, Adrian, Alden and Jeremy with grandma Ann. Ashlynn did get to come with us because she had stayed all night with a friend.

Scott and I with grandma Ann. She was being so funny on this day.

Tabetha couldn't come with us this time...she is pregnant and just didn't feel up to the traveling today. Maybe next time...

Lisa wasn't home at the time of our visit, she had gone to Ohio to be with Dano. Grandma Ann had told us that they had bought a new trailer for Dano to stay in and when the people moved out they had left the place a total mess...So Lisa and Dano had to clean up before moving in. Dano works for Ford and was transferred to Ohio about a year ago. He does come home when he can on the weekends and Lisa goes to visit him when she can. She has her hands full with taking care of her mom and Dano's mom.

Well until next time hope all is well and be safe in your journeys...

Halloween Night

We all dressed up for Halloween. Karen as a gypsy, me as a devil, and Candace was a witch.

All the kids had a good time...and they were ready to go when it was time. Running from house to house, we had to tell them to slow down or they would get tired before the end of the night. Which they did get tired.

Adrian was a zombie baseball player. Used one of his old uniforms from little league, with blood scattered all over.

Ashlynn was a witchy princess.

Alden as a very scarey pirate. He did really good on getting the candy and thanking everyone. We only went around our neighbor hood and across Washington Street this year. Last year we all went to Tabetha's neighborhood, but this year we decided to stay on our side of town. Besides that we didn't have a big enough vehicle to haul us all over to Tabetha and Daniel's. But we all had fun and that is all that counts.

Until next time hope all is well and be safe in your journeys...:)

October

Well it's the middle of October and so much has happened.

In September we were allowed to let out a little secret. Tabetha and Daniel are expecting an addition to their family. Really couldn't keep it a secret for very much long due to the fact that she is getting bigger around the belly. On October 13 she found out that they were having a little boy. The ultrasound pictures are the showing of him being a boy
This one is the profile of his little face.

And then there is his little foot. This little thing is due into this world on March 13, 2012. Can't wait to see him and love as we love all our grand children. This will be number 4. Oh and his name is Christopher Bryce Pea. They named him after a cousin of Daniel's. Daniel and his cousin were very close and he was killed in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. The due date of Christopher Bryce is around the same time as the cousin. Coincident or faith.

My birthday was October 4th and I turned 50 this year. I woke up to signs all over my front yard, thanks to Candace, Brian and Ray. Signs saying Honk she is 50 today. There were 50 of them all over the place. I also went to the doctor, everything checked out fine. My mom took my Olive Garden for a soup and salad birthday lunch. It was very nice of her and very delicious. It was also our 26th wedding anniversary. Candace and Brian took us out for a very interesting dinner at a chinesse resturant.
The kids have had the past couple weeks off of school for fall break which was from October 10 - 24. It's been very hetic around here and very sickly. Had to take Adrian and Alden to hospital with fevers of 101-103. They diagnois Adrain with a virus infection and Alden had the croop. Then last week I was in bed with the fever and chills. This week Candace has gotten it.

On October 16th was Aldens 4th birthday and he wanted a bonfire birthday and that is just what he got. The cake was even a bonfire. He had so much fun. He's always wanting a fire, just so he can mess in it for little while.

Well until next time, hope all is well and be safe in your journeys:)

End of Summer

There really wasn't alot going on in September. Labor Day? Well let's just say it was chilly, so there was no end of summer swimming, but we made the best of it. I made potatoe salad and deviled eggs, while Scott made us some new cornhole boards. The whole family was there, even mom (grandma Sandy). We played a new dice game called Farkle, grilled some hamburgers and hot dog and had baked beans, chips with dip/salsa, and a veggie tray. After eating we all went outside. Played some cornhole for a while, then played kickball and baseball. Well not actually baseball, we were batting tennis balls to see who could get them over the trees.

We also built a bonfire so the ones not playing could stay a little warm. The afternoon did warm up a little. It turned out to be a nice day in spite of being a little chilly.

We've also been keeping a secrete for some time now and we are able to let the secrete out. Tabetha and Daniel are expecting a baby, due in March 2012. We are so happy for them both.

So it's the end of another summer. Fall has begun and it's time for the fall decorations again. Pumkin patch time and apple picking, bonfires and all around good times. We go out to Anderson Orchard for the pumkin and apple picking. Not real sure when we'll be headed out there. Love the fall time, but hate when it gets cold. Will keep you updated.

Until next time hope all is well and be safe in you journeys:)

Historical Cumberland

This past weekend was the Cumberland Arts and Farmers Market Festival. It was bigger this year with about 148 booths, and it's the 3rd year for it. They close down the street from the in front of my house all the way down to the police station. The farmers market is usually around the police station on Saturday mornings 8am-12pm, then again on Tuesday from 4-7pm.

We had a pretty good crowd this year. People were every where.

We set up and booth in the front yard this year. Tried to sell Cornhole bags and doggie bandana's. The bags were a set of 4 for $10.00 and 2 sets for $18.00. Doggie bandana's were small, medium and large, ranging from $2.00 - $5.00. We spent 2 days making these bandana's and didn't sell a one of them. I did sell a 2 sets of cornhole bags.

Patsy and Joe were at the Farmers Market with their set up. Joe usually sells on Saturday mornings and Patsy will come with him on Tuesday's to sell fresh veggies, soaps, and jams.

This is Gayland, our town clown is what I call him. He is just an all around nice guy who use to work at Speedway and now works for town of Cumberland.

WFMS was there as part of the neighborhood fan van. I guess they around to different events to promote the event and themselves. Ashlynn got her picture taken with one of the WFMS guys. She was in her sash and crown to promote her winning Miss Indiana State Supreme Beauty Queen.

Alden got a ride on Uncle Rays shoulders while walking through the crowd at the festival. He had a great view of what he wanted to see and where they were going.

Ashlynn and daddy (Brian) were on their way down the street to see what they could find.

I tried to get Candace and all 3 kids in a picture, but Ashlynn ran off and the boys thought they were being funny. Candace said she knew they were up to no good. Don't think she's seen this picture yet.

Jeremy wasn't here for this event, cause he went cliff diving with Tabetha and Daniel. He had spent the night with them and they headed out around 9:00am. We picked him up at their house around 5:oopm. They said they had a pretty good time.

Well until next time...Hope all is well and be safe in your journeys:)

Rainy day

Well it finally rained here today! And as you can see the kids were out playing in it.

Alden was getting more wet than anything. The back wheel was splashing the water up all over his back.

Of course Jeremy was on his skateboard. It only rained for a little while, but it cooled things down and we really needed it. Besides it kept the kids busy for a minute.

Well until next time...Hope all is well and be safe in your journeys!!!:)
